The Youth Venture Project assists in organising and supervising creative, challenging expeditions for young people between the ages of 15 and 26 in the Dublin area. We provide specialist equipment, supervision, emergency care, advice and training to young people, schools and community groups. In particular we engage with schools and community groups in designated disadvantaged areas of Dublin to tackle social exclusion, marginalization and oppression of young people by encouraging young people to become involved in developing their interpersonal, social and communication skills, providing a sense of achievement, building self-confidence, and teaching responsibility through venture activities. Our leader’s civilian backgrounds included working as special needs assistants, paramedics, teachers, coaching youth sports clubs, instructing on survival courses, working and working with groups such as Youthreach, NCBI and NIID.
Youth Venture Project’s leaders have been organising expeditions since 2004. Our first hand experience of the many benefits of the Venture section of the award motivated the creation of the Youth Venture Project.
Youth Venture Project’s objectives are:
- to provide safe, creative, and challenging recreational, educational and support activities relevant to young people between the ages of 15 and 26 years in Dublin;
- to develop activities that expose young people to new experiences and encourage them to realise their potential as individuals, teammates and leaders.

Get Involved
Without the generosity of volunteers we would not be able to reach the young people who need our support. Volunteers are involved right across Youth Venture Project. If you would like to get involved and think you have qualifications, skills or experience that may be of benefit to us please read our information for volunteers. Other ways to support Youth Venture project include making a donation or sponsoring a group in your community to undertake one of our expeditions.
And finally, a big thank you to all our leaders, volunteers, participants, schools, community groups, sponsors and donors for all your support, advice and assistance in establishing the Youth Venture Project.
