Youth Venture Project’s activities target young people from designated disadvantaged areas of Dublin. These young people typically struggle with poverty and a lack of social and educational activities within their community. Many of the young people we encounter are at risk of leaving school early, suffer from a lack of social skills, difficulties in interacting with peers and people in positions of authority, exclusion or bullying based on ethnicity. Our activities are designed to address these challenges through teaching teamwork, confidence, leadership and responsibility. A very small amount of money would allow us cater for a much greater number of participants. At present, we are raising money that will allow us to increase the number of young people we can cater for in 2010. To do this we need to increase our number of volunteers, provide training, purchase insurance, acquire new equipment to reduce our dependence on generously loaned Defence Forces equipment and cover costs associated with each expedition (transport, cleaning, food, fuel, insurance, consumables). The fundraising target for this project is €7,000. |

Halloween Party Thank You
 A huge thank you to everyone who helped out at our Halloween fundraiser. The event was very successful and YVP would like to thank The Red Windmill, Phibsboro, HUNTER, the band, and everyone who donated prizes, attended on the night or bought raffle tickets.
